PARTICLE PLAYGROUND
Human Creativity.Advanced Tools.
Particle Playground is a production and post-production studio that turns ambitious ideas and complex stories into compelling cinematic work.
Our hybrid approach combines traditional filmmaking with visual effects, animation, motion design, and AI-assisted production. We draw on the full range of creative tools to find the right approach for each project... with the story guiding the process.
Human artists lead, shape, and review the work at every stage. We’re transparent with clients about where and how AI is used, and committed to using it responsibly.
We can contribute to a single stage or carry a project from concept and production through VFX, animation, finishing, color, and final delivery... building a workflow around the creative vision and the needs of each project.

How We Work
A Deliberate Process.
-
01
Brief & Boards
We start with the story, shape the visual approach, and establish a clear creative direction before a single frame is built.
-
02
Design & Previz
We develop style frames, motion tests, and previz to refine the look, movement, and pacing before production begins.
-
03
Production & Post
We combine live action, animation, VFX, and AI tools under one creative direction, with artists guiding the process from production through post.
-
04
Finish & Delivery
We complete the final color and finishing, then prepare each version for the platforms and formats your campaign or release requires.

AI, Generative Tools & Responsible Production
Last Updated: October 13th, 2026
Particle Playground is a production and post-production studio. Generative tools are one part of a broader filmmaking pipeline that can include live action, editorial, visual effects, animation, compositing, motion design, color, sound, and finishing.
Do you use generative AI?
Yes. We use generative systems when they are appropriate for the creative brief, alongside traditional production and post-production methods. The workflow is selected project by project.
Are you replacing actors?
No. Our use of generative tools is not a policy of replacing performers. We do not use generative systems to create unauthorized replicas of identifiable performers or to bypass consent, contractual, union, or disclosure obligations. When a project calls for live performers, we work with live performers. When a synthetic performer or digital replica is contemplated, we address the necessary rights, permissions, contracts, and disclosures as applicable.
What is a synthetic performer or digital replica?
“Synthetic performer” is used in California law for certain AI-created human performances that are not recognizable as a specific real person. A “digital replica” generally concerns a digitally created or altered representation of an identifiable person’s voice or likeness. Those concepts can trigger different consent, contract, likeness, and disclosure requirements.
Do you disclose AI-generated performers?
Where disclosure is legally required, we work with clients to make the disclosure clear and conspicuous and to satisfy applicable state, federal, network, platform, and campaign requirements. California law includes disclosure requirements for certain advertising uses of synthetic performers, and federal advertising standards require material disclosures to be presented clearly enough for consumers to notice and understand them when disclosure is necessary to avoid deception.
Do you train models on client materials?
Particle Playground does not use client materials to train proprietary AI models. When approved third-party generative platforms are used, client materials are processed according to the provider’s applicable contracts, account settings, privacy terms, and data-handling policies. Confidentiality requirements are considered when selecting a workflow.
What tools and models do you use?
Our toolset evolves quickly. Depending on the project, workflows may include Google Gemini, Kling, ByteDance Seedance, MiniMax H3 Max, and other specialized image, video, audio, 3D, compositing, editorial, and finishing tools. No single model defines our process.
Can you create work without generative AI?
Yes. We can build a project around live action, conventional animation, motion design, VFX, post-production, or a hybrid workflow. The method follows the idea, client requirements, rights, schedule, and budget.
Who makes the creative decisions?
People do. Direction, concept development, taste, shot design, performance decisions, continuity, editorial choices, finishing, and final approval remain human-led.
How do you approach copyright, likeness, and brand safety?
We structure workflows around appropriate rights, permissions, licensed materials, performer consent, client restrictions, and applicable platform requirements. We do not intentionally create unauthorized celebrity replicas, deceptive endorsements, or misleading representations of real people.
Are AI-generated advertisements still subject to ordinary advertising law?
Yes. Generative production does not remove ordinary truth-in-advertising obligations. Claims must still be truthful and non-deceptive, and disclosures must be clear and conspicuous when required. Project-specific requirements can vary by jurisdiction, medium, campaign, and distribution platform.
How do you protect client confidentiality?
Client assets are treated as production materials and are limited to the approved workflow. We select tools, permissions, and account settings with the project’s confidentiality requirements in mind.
This FAQ describes our general production practices and is not legal advice. Project-specific legal and contractual requirements should be reviewed with appropriate counsel.
